The freight logistics world is full of specialized terms that define each step of the process. At EPS, we handle every aspect with precision and expertise to ensure we provide you with the best possible service. Below is the first part of our logistics alphabet, covering from A to M:

A – Air Waybill (AWB):
The “Air Waybill” is an essential document in air transportation. It is used as the receipt for the shipper, it contains shipment details, and serves as a contract of carriage between the sender and the airline. At EPS, we ensure that all our air shipments are managed efficiently, guaranteeing the safety of your goods.

B – Bill of Lading (B/L):
The “Bill of Lading” is a crucial document in maritime transportation. It serves as a receipt for the cargo and as a title of ownership. At EPS, we use the B/L to ensure that your goods are transported and delivered according to the agreed upon terms, always maintaining clear and precise tracking.

C – Cash on Delivery (COD) / Commercial Invoice:
“Cash on Delivery” is a method where payment do at the time of delivery. On the other hand, the “Commercial Invoice” is a detailed invoice that accompanies each international shipment. At EPS, we manage both of them to ensure that your operations are carried out quickly and transparently.

D – Delivery / Dock:
The term “Delivery” refers to the delivery of goods to their destination, and “Dock” refers to the area where shipments are loaded and unloaded. At EPS, we oversee each delivery and coordinate our dock operations with precision to ensure the punctuality and care of your cargo.

E – Electronic Export Information (EEI):
The EEI is a document required for exporting products from the U.S. It is part of the electronic export documentation that ensures legal compliance. At EPS, we ensure that all international shipments meet customs requirements for a hassle-free delivery.

F – Freight:
“Freight” refers to the cost of transporting goods. At EPS, we work with competitive rates and rigorous cost control to provide you with the best service without compromising quality.

G – Gross Weight:
“Gross Weight” is the total weight of the shipment, including packaging. At EPS, we carefully ponder this value to calculate costs and ensure that shipments are handled properly during transit.

H – Hazmat (Hazardous Materials):
“Hazmat” refers to hazardous goods that require special handling. At EPS, we are trained to transport these materials following the highest safety standards, ensuring regulatory compliance and the safety of all individuals involved.

Understanding these logistics terms not only enriches your comprehension of how the supply chain operates, but also assures you that at EPS we comply with each of them to provide efficient service. From managing transit times to using tools like pallets and advanced warehouse systems, we guarantee that every step in the logistics process is optimized.
